Most children can receive their vaccine at the same place that adult vaccines are offered.

Do I Have To Get A Booster
When the CDC advisory panel voted unanimously to recommend boosters, they also acknowledged that some need them more than others. People age 50 and older “should” get a booster , in addition to other groups who “should” get one because of a clearer benefit, including adults living in long-term care facilities and everyone who received Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine.
For all other adults under 50, the need for a booster is less clear. Your decision whether to get another dose will depend on your own circumstances, choice and benefit-risk assessment.
Importantly, the definition of fully vaccinated hasn’t changed. You’re considered fully vaccinated two weeks after your second Pfizer or Moderna shot, or two weeks after your Johnson & Johnson shot.

No. Vaccines for eligible patients 5 to 11 years of age will initially be available at a select number of CVS Pharmacy locations starting on Sunday, 11/7, based on the initial allocation from the Federal Government. Not every location will have the vaccine immediately available upon CDC approval, so parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to visit CVS.com or to use the CVS App to schedule an appointment. The scheduling tool will only display appointments at CVS Pharmacy locations that have the PfizerâBioNTech vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 years once the patient’s age is provided.

Who’s Qualified For A Booster Shot
For individuals who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster shot at 6 months or more after their initial series:
- 65 years and older
- Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
- Age 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings
For the nearly 15 million people who got the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, the CDC says booster shots are also recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months ago.
There are now booster recommendations for all three available COVID-19 vaccines in the United States. Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some people may have a preference for the vaccine type that they originally received, and others may prefer to get a different booster. CDCs recommendations now allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots.
The CDC says millions of people are newly eligible to receive a booster shot and will benefit from additional protection.
You can get your booster shot at many of the same locations that offer the vaccine. You should start by reaching out to where you initially got your COVID-19 vaccine to see if they offer booster shots. If they are no longer open or are not offering the booster shot, speak with your healthcare provider.
