Manitoba’s Immunization Verifier App To Remain Available After Proof Of Vaccination Rules Are Lifted
Although Manitoba is planning to do away with proof of vaccination requirements starting next week in public settings, businesses will still be able to continue to check for vaccine status.
During Thursdays public health update, the province confirmed it would keep the immunization app to verify proof of vaccination for businesses that wish to continue requiring it.
Weve heard from some venues, some businesses, that they are interested in keeping the proof of vaccine beyond that date, said Dr. Brent Roussin, Manitoba’s chief public officer. We can confirm that the Manitoba immunization card and the verifier app will be available beyond March 1 for those who want to continue to use that.
Proof of vaccination requirements officially lift on March 1, with remaining pandemic restrictions in Manitoba lifting on March 15.
Health Minister Audrey Gordon said the government will continue to speak with businesses about their needs as the restrictions lift and ensure support for businesses.
In addition to businesses no longer being required to have proof of vaccination requirements, the province is also removing proof of vaccination and testing requirements for designated public sector employees, including education, child-care and health-care workers. He cited the provinces vaccine uptake as one of the reasons for the change.
Weve always known that the rules were in place for a temporary amount of time, always in the least restrictive fashion, Roussin said.

How To Show Your Covid Vaccination Status By Scanning Your Vaccination Card
You don’t have to rely on state-specific vaccination apps or even programs like Clear to bring along your vaccination card. You can scan a copy straight into your phone, on either iPhone or Android, using built-in document scanners or free options like Evernote Scannable.
If you’re an iOS user, your scanning capability is baked right into your Notes app. Open Notes, then create a new note. Tap the camera icon beneath the title of your note. From here, choose “Scan Documents.” Bring your card into focus and center it in the frame. Once your phone scans the card, it will save a copy for you.
Android users can use the official Google Drive app, which comes preinstalled on most Android phones. Once in the app, tap the “add” or plus sign button, then find the camera icon. Tap that: it’s labeled as the Scan option.
Take a photo of your vaccination card by positioning it within the frame properly. Then save your photo by pressing the checkmark. You’re done!
There are multiple ways to save this precious piece of paper, but only one way that fits your busy schedule and lifestyle. However you choose to preserve your vaccination record and digitize it for proof on your phone, it’s crucial that you do so. It could become a mainstay across the entirety of the country to require proof of vaccination much faster than you might imagine.

If I Have Been Infected And Recovered What Is The Recommendation For Boosters
If you have recovered well from an infection, without complications, your immune system would have gone through a strong stimulus. Think of it as a fairly powerful vaccination shot.
There can be various combinations of infection with vaccination doses.
You may be infected after you have completed two doses, before you started vaccination, or in between the two doses.
Say an mRNA vaccine dose is V and infection is I, the three combinations are:
– V+V+I: You got three stimulants, and you are considered boosted.
– I+V+V : You got three stimulants and are considered boosted.
– V+I+V: You are fully vaccinated but not boosted. This is because the timing between two doses is three to four weeks, and to get infected in between means the first V and the I are too close in timing together, and they are not separate stimulants to your body. You need V+I+V+V to be considered boosted.
Rule of thumb: If you are infected while unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, you need two more doses to be considered boosted.

But there is no rush to get boosted if you have I+V or V+I+V. Our experts tell us that under these scenarios, the immunity takes longer to wane, beyond nine months.

How To Locate Your Vaccination Records
Unfortunately, there is no national organization that maintains vaccination records. The CDC does not have this information. The records that exist are the ones you or your parents were given when the vaccines were administered and the ones in the medical record of the doctor or clinic where the vaccines were given.
Talk with your doctor about the best options to make sure you are up-to-date on vaccines.
If you need official copies of vaccination records, or if you need to update your personal records, there are several places you can look:
- Ask parents or other caregivers if they have records of your childhood immunizations.
- Try looking through baby books or other saved documents from your childhood.
- Check with your high school and/or college health services for dates of any immunizations. Keep in mind that generally records are kept only for 1-2 years after students leave the system.
- Check with previous employers that may have required immunizations.
- Check with your doctor or public health clinic. Keep in mind that vaccination records are maintained at doctors office for a limited number of years.
- Contact your states health department. Some states have registries that include adult vaccines.

If You Were Vaccinated Abroad
To update your records with vaccines you received while outside of the United States, you may:
- Contact the immunization information system in your state. You can find state IIS information on the CDC website.
- Contact your healthcare provider or your local or state immunization program through your states health department.
The CDC-labeled white COVID-19 Vaccination Record Cards are only issued to people vaccinated in the United States. CDC recommends you keep your documentation of being vaccinated in the other country as proof of vaccination. CDC also recommends checking with your primary care provider or state health department for options to document your vaccination status domestically.

What Documents Provide Proof Of Vaccination
There are two documents available from My Health Record that provide proof of vaccination:
- An immunisation history statement shows all the immunisations youve had that are on the Australian Immunisation Register , including COVID-19 vaccinations.
- A COVID-19 digital certificate shows only your COVID-19 vaccinations. You can get your digital certificate after youve had all required doses of a vaccine approved for use in Australia. If youve had a booster or third dose, only your last 2 COVID-19 vaccinations will show on your digital certificate. Your first dose will no longer appear on your digital certificate, but youll still be considered fully vaccinated.
Your vaccination provider must report your vaccination information to the Australian Immunisation Register before it will show on your immunisation history statement or COVID-19 digital certificate.

You may need an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate to travel overseas. This international certificate is not available from My Health Record.
