What Are The Long Term Effects Of Vaccines

Public Should Be Told That Vaccines May Have Long Term Adverse Effects

What Are the Long-term Side Effects of COVID-19 Vaccine?

EditorJeffersons editorial about vaccination and its adverse effects mentions our research. We found that immunisation starting at birth was associated with a decreased risk of insulin dependent diabetes, while immunisation starting after age 2 months was associated with an increased risk of diabetes in both rodents and humans. We initiated a collaboration with Dr Jaakko Tuomilehto to study the effect of Haemophilus influenzae type b vaccine on the incidence of diabetes. Roughly 116000 Finnish children were randomised to receive either four doses of the vaccine, starting at 3 months of age, or one dose at 24 months of age. We calculated the incidence of insulin dependent diabetes in both groups until age 10 and in a group that did not receive the vaccinea cohort that included all 128500 children born in Finland in the 24 months before the study of the vaccine began.

A conference was held in Bethesda, Maryland, in May 1998 to discuss our data. At the conference we stated that the data on the vaccine support our published findings that immunisation starting after the age of 2 months is associated with an increased risk of diabetes. Our analysis is further supported by a similar rise in diabetes after immunisation with H influenzae type b vaccine in the United States and United Kingdom. Furthermore, the increased risk of diabetes in the vaccinated group exceeds the expected decreased risk of complications of H influenzae meningitis.

Vaccine Side Effects And Adverse Events

A vaccine is a medical product. Vaccines, though they are designed to protect from disease, can cause side effects, just as any medication can.

Most side effects from vaccination are mild, such as soreness, swelling, or redness at the injection site. Some vaccines are associated with fever, rash, and achiness. Serious side effects are rare, but may include seizure or life-threatening allergic reaction.

A possible side effect resulting from a vaccination is known as an adverse event.

Each year, American babies receive more than 10 million vaccinations. During the first year of life, a significant number of babies suffer serious, life-threatening illnesses and medical events, such as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome . Additionally, it is during the first year that congenital conditions may become evident. Therefore, due to chance alone, many babies will experience a medical event in close proximity to a vaccination. This does not mean, though, that the event is in fact related to the immunization. The challenge is to determine when a medical event is directly related to a vaccination.

The Food and Drug and Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have set up systems to monitor and analyze reported adverse events and to determine whether they are likely related to vaccination.

Immune Systems Are Built For Speed

Following a vaccination, your immune system will be activated and start building its memory of how to fight off this intruder. Your immune system acts quickly: thats how it manages to fight off infections.

Most side effects appear in the first few days after the vaccination and are usually mild. These are signs that the immune system is active and responding to the vaccine as intended. Based on past experience with vaccines, problems will appear quickly, generally within the 6 weeks following vaccination. These side effects are generally mild and low risk.

After those first few weeks, you keep the immune memory but your immune system is no longer being activated. This is why we generally dont see any reactions after this time.

So after vaccination, theres a known period of risk in return for long-term benefit of immunity which usually lasts 12 months or longer its a pretty good deal.

Progressive Improvement In 60

“The patient presented with body aches, weakness, dizziness and headaches within 2-3 days after the vaccination . Within 2 weeks the patients body aches had resolved, headache and dizziness had resolved, and fatigue improved by 85%. After one more week, the patients fatigue had improved by a further 95%.”

A common concern about the COVID-19 vaccines is that since they have only been around a short time, we dont yet know if there will be any long-term effects.

While the vaccines themselves are new, we have huge amounts of research on vaccines and how they affect us. The ingredients in COVID-19 vaccines have been extensively researched and tested and how they work in your body. Australia has very robust safety monitoring for all vaccines and medicines from the Therapeutic Goods Administration which is an independent authority.

It is very rare that a vaccine has needed to be removed after approval by the TGA, and in cases where this has happened, the adverse events were known about soon after the vaccine was being used. We have never seen side effects appear more than a few weeks after a vaccine, despite extensive research looking for long-term effects.

How Serious Is The Omicron Variant

Each coronavirus variant includes mutations that help the virus to survive and spread. For instance, before omicron, the delta variant had the most known mutations, and it was the most contagious variant.

Scientists have identified many more mutations in omicron, including nearly 30 that are unique to this variant, that make the virus more contagious. Although it spreads more easily than past coronavirus variants, there are still details about it that remain unknown, including whether it causes more severe illness.

The good news is that theres no reason to panic. We already have ways to protect ourselves from the omicron variant.

‘eligible Fully Vaccinated People Need Not Register For Booster Shot’

On December 25, the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the administration of booster dose for healthcare and frontline workers and those 60 years and above with comorbidities will start on January 10, Monday.

During a briefing thereafter, NITI Aayog’s Dr VK Paul remarked, “The precautionary vaccine dose that will be given to healthcare workers, frontline workers and individuals 60 years and above with comorbidities will be the same vaccine that has been given to them previously. Those who have received Covaxin will receive Covaxin, those who have received the primary doses of Covishield will receive Covishield.”

It is pertinent to mention here that there is no need for new registration for administrating booster doses. Those who have taken two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, be it Covaxin or Covishield can directly take an appointment or walk-in to any vaccination centre. Schedules will be published on 8th January.

A: Realistically No Biologically The Chances Of Long

TL DR: Serious vaccine side effects are exceedingly rare and occur hours or days after vaccination, not months or years.

The risk of infection and long-term health effects of COVID-19 infection are high and very real.

We *really* feel the sentiment behind this common vaccine question. After all, the vaccines were developed at Warp Speed and we have only followed people up for a short time. How can we be sure there are no long-term side effects of the vaccine?

While the Nerdy Girls continue to emphasize that science is a *process* rather than a specific answer, the scientific process has delivered much data that can ease our minds about unknown long-term effects.

Weve learned a lot from a long history of vaccine science.

Most vaccine side effects occur *very soon* after vaccination, within minutes to hours , or within days/weeks . Severe adverse events are very rare. The current trials have enrolled tens of thousands of participants since March 2020 so we have had a lot of time to see reactions. No serious adverse events were observed in the Pfizer and Moderna trials. While a very small number of treatable allergic reactions have been seen out of the millions of vaccines deployed so far, the number of reported adverse events has been very small and lower than normal expected rates in the population.

But havent there been scary long term effects of vaccines before?

Stay safe and stay sane!

How The Spike Protein Affects Your Health

Are There Negative Long-Term Side Effects to the COVID-19 Vaccine

The latest medical research shows that the spike protein contained in COVID vaccines is highly toxic and causes a severe physiological impact, including blood clotting and bleeding. COVID vaccines have been proven to fuel ongoing replication of the harmful spike protein with a continuing presence inside the body for an indefinite length of time.

Other Baseless Risk Claims

Many vaccine recipients experience pain at the site of injection, fatigue, muscle pain or headache, as weve explained. Data from the Pfizer/BioNTech and Modernatrials also show the side effects included joint pain, chills or fever.

A small number of people in the U.S. have had serious allergic reactions following receipt of the shots. Thats why the CDC advises that anyone who has previously experienced anaphylaxis or had any kind of immediate allergic reaction to any vaccine or injection be monitored for a half hour after getting the shot.

In the video clip circulating online, though, Cahill suggests without evidence that recipients will go on to probably have allergy, neuro-cognitive issues, and inflammation, and of course infertility is the major one.

Weve previously addressed the lack of evidence for the claim that the COVID-19 vaccines cause infertility. While clinical trials did not probe the issue, loss of fertility has not been reported among thousands of trial participants and it has not been confirmed as an adverse event among the millions who have been vaccinated.

And as for the other supposed long-term effects, Hotez said there is zero evidence to support such claims.

Also there is not even a plausible mechanism, its just antivax gobbledygook, he said.

While Cahills claims about supposed long-term effects of the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines arent rooted in evidence, there is support for the fact that COVID-19 itself can result in long-term health effects.

Three Things To Know About The Long

Many Americans say they want to make sure the shot is safe before getting vaccinated. That data is already in, and it is overwhelming.

Many Americans say they want to make sure the shot is safe before getting vaccinated. That data is already in, and it is overwhelming. In his nearly 30 years studying vaccines, Paul Goepfert, M.D., director of the Alabama Vaccine Research Clinic at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, has never seen any vaccine as effective as the three COVID vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson currently available in the United States.

A 90 percent decrease in risk of infections, and 94 percent effectiveness against hospitalization for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines is fantastic, he said.

But what makes vaccine experts such as Goepfert confident that COVID vaccines are safe in the long term? We have all seen billboards and TV infomercials from law firms seeking people harmed by diet drugs or acid-reflux medicines for class-action lawsuits. What makes Goepfert think that scientists would not discover previously unsuspected problems caused by COVID vaccines in the years ahead?

Vaccines are eliminated quickly

Unlike many medications, which are taken daily, vaccines are generally one-and-done. Medicines you take every day can cause side effects that reveal themselves over time, including long-term problems as levels of the drug build up in the body over months and years.

What Our Experts Say

After vaccines are approved for use they are monitored closely by national and international health and medicine regulators. Studying long-term effects of vaccines helps health authorities ensure that protection from taking a vaccine outweighs risks.

The United States uses several reporting mechanisms for monitoring long-term vaccine side effects. They include:

  • Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System which works as an early warning system to detect possible safety issues with vaccines by collecting information about possible side effects or health problems that occur after vaccination
  • The Vaccine Safety Datalink which helps discover if possible side effects identified using VAERS are actually related to vaccination
  • The Post-Licensure Rapid Immunization Safety Monitoring system which is the largest vaccine safety surveillance system in the United States and actively monitors a subset of the general population for vaccine impacts
  • The Clinical Immunization Safety Assessment Project which works alongside health systems to consistently monitor and evaluate the safety of vaccines throughout large populations

Monitoring vaccines and reporting any side effects to local and national health agencies is an important part of the vaccine process. Any reports of a potential side effect from a vaccine can lead to health officials issuing new recommendations or warnings, restricting the vaccine, or even recalling it if necessary .

What About The Thrombosis Cases Linked To Astrazeneca

Health Care Personnel and Flu Vaccination, Internet Panel ...

This is a rare side effect that was discovered by health officials only after the AstraZeneca vaccine was rolled out, Förster confirmed. There were some severe cases with blood clots in different or unusual locations .

Thrombosis, which is a rare side effect of the COVID-19 vaccine, can be treated effectively

“The clinical trials can show the more common reactions to the vaccine, but unfortunately not the rare ones because of the relatively small number of cases,” immunologist Falk explained. That’s why this side effect didn’t come to light until after the vaccine was approved, she said.

According to Australian health authorities, thrombosis occurs only in a maximum of four to six people out of 1 million who are vaccinated with AstraZeneca.

According to Germany’s Federal Center for Health Education, the majority of thrombosis cases usually occurred two to three weeks after vaccination, predominantly in people under 60 years of age. That’s why, as of April 1, Germany now only recommends vaccinating people 60 and older with AstraZeneca. If the side effect is detected early enough, it can be treated.

How Do Mrna Vaccines Work

Vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna were the first to be granted emergency use authorization by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Theyre not identical, but they attack the disease using the same method, and both require two doses for the best protection from the COVID-19.

Unlike vaccines that put a weakened or inactivated virus in your body to activate an immune response, the two COVID-19 vaccines use messenger RNA, or mRNA, to deliver a message to your immune system. In this case, the message tells your cells to create a harmless piece of a specific spike protein thats found on the surface of COVID-19. Your body recognizes that the spike protein doesnt belong and starts creating antibodies to remove it. In doing so, your bodys immune system becomes prepared to fight the virus if you encounter it.

Its important to know that mRNA doesnt affect your genes in any way because it never enters the nucleus of cells, where your DNA is kept. After the mRNA does its job, it breaks down and is flushed out of your system within hours. Its also important to know that although mRNA technology for vaccines is new, the mRNA technology itself isnt. Therapies using mRNA have been around for years and are currently being used to treat cancer and viral diseases.

Natural Immunity And Disease Prevention

Vaccines help your immune system get ready to protect against a disease without making you sick.

You may become naturally immune after being exposed to a disease. However, the risks of severe complications or even death are much greater than the risks of a severe reaction after getting a vaccine.

For example, if your child gets meningitis naturally, they have a 1 in 10 chance of dying. Those that survive have a 1 in 5 chance of:

  • deafness
  • loss of limbs
  • brain damage

An infected person can also spread the disease to others in the community before they show symptoms. Groups at risk include:

  • older adults
  • those with underlying health conditions

How Do I Know If What I Am Experiencing Is Normal Or If I Should Alert My Doctor Or Health Care Provider

You will be told about the side effects of the vaccine and when you should consult a health care worker at the time you are vaccinated.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises that you should contact your doctor or health care provider if the redness or tenderness where you got the shot increases after 24 hours, or if your side effects are worrying you or do not seem to be going away after a few days.

Unfounded Claim Of Future Deaths

What are the long term side effects from COVID-19 vaccine?

Its unclear what exactly is behind Cahills wild and baseless claim that the vaccines will cause all recipients to die within a matter of years. Our inquiries to Cahill went unanswered.

Meanwhile, Grant McFadden, director of the Biodesign Center for Immunotherapy, Vaccines, and Virotherapy at Arizona State University, told us in an email that the safety record for the mRNA vaccines is excellent.

McFadden said that while we do not yet have long-term data in humans, there are no scientific reasons to predict complications in these new vaccines in the coming years. He added that common health practices mandate that this will be monitored carefully for years to come.

In a different video uploaded earlier this year, Cahill also predicts widespread deaths specifically from the mRNA vaccines by misrepresenting old studies unrelated to the mRNA technology.

In one case, she cites a 2012 study dealing with vaccine candidates for SARS-CoV .

What happened in this study is that the animal models after have been challenged got very sick and that some of them died, Cahill says.

As we noted in a previous story, those vaccine candidates for SARS-CoV were not mRNA vaccines, as Cahill implies. And while the study found that the vaccine candidates being tested caused mice to develop eosinophilia a high count of a type of white blood cells when exposed to the live virus, the animals didnt die, as our fact-checking colleagues at Reuters have explained.
