Are There Other Health Concerns In North And West Africa
Cases of dengue and chikungunya can, and do, occur in various parts of North and West Africa. Other insect-borne infections are also present that can cause serious or fatal symptoms. Be sure to use mosquito repellent and netting regularly while in the region.
Malaria is also present in some parts of the region. Antimalarials will be recommended based on your need and drug resistance within the area.
Travelers diarrhea can be a serious risk for travelers in North and West Africa. Medical facilities are often lacking resources, meaning you should take what you may need with you. New Law Aimed At Housing Insecurity
Hochul also said she was signing the Family Homelessness and Eviction Prevention Supplements bill into law, helping thousands more New Yorkers move out of shelters and into homes. The bill was passed by state legislature in November.
“If we want to get people out of shelters, we have to give them enough money to afford the rent,” Hochul said.
The program’s voucher payment will now be raised to 100% of fair market rate set by the federal government, according to the governor.
Hochul said the Legal Aid Society estimated an additional 2,300 New Yorkers will now be able to move out of shelters, on top of the 12,000 already helped by the program.

Travellers to Australia need to comply with requirements in the state or territory of their arrival, and any other state or territories that you plan to travel to. This includes quarantine and post-arrival testing requirements. Restrictions may change at short notice.
Quarantine requirements in Australia are determined by State and Territory governments.
If you wish to travel on to another state or territory you may not be allowed to enter, or may be subject to a quarantine period.

Positive Arrival Test Or Symptoms After Your Arrival
Monitor for symptoms for 14 days after your arrival.
If a fully vaccinated traveller or unvaccinated child under 12 years of age tests positive:
- report your test results and/or symptoms to PHAC by calling 1-833-641-0343
If a parent, step-parent, guardian, or tutor experiences symptoms or tests positive:
- unvaccinated children under 12 years of age must quarantine for 14 days and monitor for symptoms

You must provide proof of your test results, if asked, to any federal, provincial, territorial or municipal government official or peace officer.

Abbreviations For Travel Vaccines
* Everybody should be vaccinated against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and poliomyelitis. Adults who have had the basic vaccinations should have a booster dose against these diseases every 10 years.
** Polio vaccination for stays in countries with polio outbreaks: WHO requires that anyone staying over 4 weeks in a country at risk of exporting vaccine-derived poliovirus type 1 should have the polio vaccine between 4 weeks and 12 months before leaving the country. This must be documented with an international vaccine certificate. This applies for people of all ages, including children who are considered to be fully vaccinated according to the Childhood Immunisation Programme. This currently applies to Madagascar.
Several countries have reported incidences of vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2. The WHO encourages people who have stayed for more than 4 weeks in countries at risk of exporting vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 to receive a polio vaccine between 4 weeks and 12 months before leaving the country. This currently applies to: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Senegal, Sierra Leone , Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Togo, and Uganda.

Hospitals Managing New Nys Covid Vaccine Mandate On First Day
Tuesday, Sept. 28, was the first day that health care workers across New York were required to either be vaccinated against COVID-19 or lose their jobs. A wide variety of hospitals and other health care facilities had to release workers who refused to get vaccinated from their payrolls. It was a challenge for many facilities, but it seemed surmountable, according to the latest figures provided by the facilities.

Families who are fully vaccinated or unvaccinated children traveling with parents can enter Thailand without quarantine under the Phuket Sandbox program as follows:
- Everyone 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before traveling to Thailand.
- Travelers 12-17 years of age traveling to Thailand unaccompanied must get vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine. Those traveling with parents are not required to be vaccinated.

Know How To Get Medical Care While Traveling
Plan for how you will get health care during your trip, should the need arise:
- Carry a list of local doctors and hospitals at your destination.

Four more cases of the omicron variant of the coronavirus have been detected in New York on Monday, Dec. 6. That brought the state’s number of cases up to 12.
