Can Eligible Individuals Receive The Covid
Yes. According to the CDC, eligible individuals, including children, may receive the seasonal flu vaccine at the same time they are receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. There is no need to stagger vaccinations. Additionally, if an individual has already received a flu shot, they can receive their COVID-19 vaccine at any time.
Strategy : Try Free Unofficial Tools
Some unofficial websites like vaxxmax.com and vaccinespotter.org might do some research legwork for you. They comb multiple clinic and pharmacy sites, then combine availability data into lists or maps that are simple to use. You dont even have to register, you can just search.
What about leftovers from no-shows or cancellations? Weeks ago, the state said you could sign up to volunteer at vaccination sites and possibly be given extra doses. Its not clear how many people got that lucky. If you want to try anyway, you can still sign up at myturnvolunteer.ca.gov.

Is Getting The Covid
The FDA has authorized three COVID-19 vaccines which have been shown to be safe and effective as determined by data from the manufacturers and findings from large clinical trials. This data demonstrates that the known and potential benefits of this vaccine outweigh the known and potential harms of becoming infected with COVID 19. CVS Health is only administering vaccines that have been authorized for use by the FDA and our COVID-19 vaccination services are being conducted in compliance with CDC guidance for safe delivery of vaccines.

Learn The Lay Of The Land
Not content to sit and wait? There are plenty of other non-mass vaccination sites where you may be able to score a shot. This is where things get tricky, and where strategy really comes into play.
Search on the states Vaxfinder website or vaccine site map to find out which vaccination sites are near where you live or work, and factor in how far youre willing to drive. These resources are not always totally up to date, so double check pharmacy websites directly. Also, some appointment hunters have reported finding success using an app called Solv to track down clinics that state tools might have missed.
Depending on where you live, there may be multiple options, be it a pharmacy, a neighborhood health center, a regional collaborative, or some other site. Once you have a handle on this, youll know which websites to check regularly and will be able to familiarize yourself with how they work. Then, when the time comes, get ready to hit refresh over and over until a spot opens up.
If you did this already several weeks ago, you might want to do it again, as new sites appear to be opening every week.

What Do I Need To Do/know About The Johnson & Johnsons Janssen Covid
The FDA and the CDC are confident that the vaccine is safe and effective at preventing COVID-19. At this time, the available data suggests that the chance of developing a rare blood disorder thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome is very low, and the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks.
For women between the ages of 18 and 49, this adverse event is rare, occurring at a rate of about 7 per 1 million vaccinated women. For women 50 years and older and men of all ages, this adverse event is even more rare. Women younger than 50 should be aware that other COVID-19 vaccines are available where this risk has not been seen.
Patients who receive the Janssen vaccine should monitor for severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain or shortness of breath for 2 weeks after administration.
If experiencing symptoms, patients should contact their healthcare provider.
The Janssen, Pfizer-BioNTech, and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are offered in select CVS locations. Find locations and schedule your appointment.

La Mayor Eric Garcetti Tests Positive For Covid
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has tested positive for COVID-19, his office announced Wednesday. Garcetti, who is attending the United Nations conference on climate change in Glasgow, Scotland, was feeling good and isolating in his hotel room.
He is fully vaccinated but hasnt received a booster shot, his office said.
Garcetti was scheduled to fly back to Los Angeles on Thursday but will follow U.K health guidelines, spokesman Harrison Wollman said. Those guidelines say an individual should quarantine for 10 days, meaning Garcetti might be stuck in Scotland until then.
The UN event, COP26, attracted world leaders, including President Joe Biden, and included safety measures due to the coronavirus. That included reduced capacity, social distancing and the use of a virtual platform to participate remotely.
Garcetti had been getting rapid COVID-19 tests each day of the conference, his office said, but had a PCR test before his flight home and got a positive result Wednesday. Garcetti had participated earlier in the day in a discussion about challenges with tackling climate change.

NORFOLK, Va. COVID-19 vaccine appointments filled up quickly at CVS pharmacies around Hampton Roads after the pharmacy said more would be available Thursday.
As of 8:30 a.m. Thursday, all appointments to get a shot at any store around the region were ‘fully booked’ according to the CVS website.
A corporate spokesperson confirmed that all appointments had been filled for the week, but said more appointments would be available next week when the pharmacy is expected to get its next shipment of vaccines in Virginia.
The pharmacy’s vaccine rollout didn’t go over smoothly this week.
When getting CVS onboard for vaccinations, the Virginia Department of Health requested it to only schedule appointments for people who had pre-registered at their local health departments and were waiting their turns for a shot.
That didn’t work, so VDH asked the pharmacy to open their schedule early and allow local health departments to register people themselves. However, CVS couldn’t limit online access to just the health districts, so anybody online could sign up for an appointment which led to more confusion and frustration.
CVS said they’re only giving shots to people ages 65 and over at this time even if they aren’t registered with their local health departments.
Appointments are added on a rolling basis as they become available. The pharmacy gets 26,000 vaccine doses each week which are divided between the 36 stores that are offering appointments.
